Meet Mike Berenstain
Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable
bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too. Though Stan died in 2005, and Jan in 2012, Mike continues to create Berenstain Bear adventures from his studio in Pennsylvania.
Meet Stan and Jan Berenstain
Stan and Jan Berenstain began writing and illustrating books for children in the early 1960s, when their two sons, Michael and Leo, were young readers themselves. They lived on a hillside in Bucks County, Pennsylvania – a place that looks a lot like Bear Country.
The Living Lights Series
The Berenstain Bears Living Lights series is a faith-based line of books that helps teach simple Christian truths to children.

Like all Berenstein books kid friendly and well written.

As an adult, I have found that the Berenstain Bears books can be exhausting to read. I never realized how drawn out the storyline and sentences were when I was a kid. Nevertheless, the kids enjoy these books and they are a good, clean book about family values. Also, I just realized I have been pronouncing the books wrong for 30+ years. They are Berenstain Bears, not Bernstein.
Helen Cliffford –
Bernstein Bears are always one of my favorites! Great family story with a lesson to it.

No doubt Berenstain Bear books are the best. Purchased every single one of them when my daughter was growing up and now starting a library of them for my granddaughter. My daughter loved these books and it was through these books I taught her how to read before she even attended kindergarten. These books are honest, good hearted books. Through these books you can teach respect, manners, sharing etc. They are great books to read and discuss with your child. So excited to be able to do this with my grandchild.

This is a great book. It only got 4 stars because it is a LONG one- and when it’s time to read after a long day, I was not excited to see this in the pile of books my son had chosen. The message is very sweet and funny- there are some really cute things in this book. My son is 3 and he loves this book (and all the Berenstain Bears books in general).

A bit wordy for littles, and the whole premise is sister falls in love with the turkey meant to be dinner, so they have fish instead… Not exactly what I wanted my littles to hear before we ate our turkey…

We could not love this book more! Teaches little ones to respect food and animals. Love love LOVE!

Children enjoy the storytelling as well as the illustrations in this book. I am young at heart and it gives me pleasure the time that I spend reading to my grandson and answering his questions.
